In 2012, in the Aragatsotn region of Armenia vineyards were increased by 264 hectares and reached 1,835 hectares. This is stated in the press service of the administration of the Aragatsotn region.
Overall, in 2012, there was planted 23,940 hectares of cereals, potatoes - 1569 ha, vegetables - 978 ha and melons - by 158 hectares. Plantings of grapes grown on 264 hectares and currently make up 1,835 hectares. The total area of orchards was about 5212 hectares, 330 hectares more than last year. Compared with 5500 tonnes in 2011, in 2012 growers have collected 6,200 tons of grapes.
